Six regions, one standard

Areas We Serve Across Melbourne

Our crews clean gutters Melbourne-wide, and we plan the city as six regions because the work really does differ from one to the next. The eastern suburbs drop more leaves than anywhere else, the west deals with dust and wind, the inner city is all parapets and tight lanes, and Bayside has salt air and slate. This page gives a short picture of each region and links to its own page, with suburbs named as examples rather than a list. For the full range of services, start at our roof and gutter cleaning homepage.

Coverage

Where do we offer gutter cleaning across Melbourne?

Everywhere in metropolitan Melbourne, from Werribee to the Dandenong foothills and from Epping down to Frankston. For planning, we group gutter cleaning across Melbourne into six regions, east, south-east, west, north, Bayside and the inner city, and each has a page on the trees, roofs and access that shape its jobs.

Suburbs on the edge of two regions, such as Mount Waverley or Essendon, simply go to whichever crew is closest that week. The region pages are a guide to local conditions, not a boundary, and nothing about your quote depends on which side of a line you fall.

The same crews, equipment, photo reports and pricing rules apply in every region. What changes is the planning: a gum-covered double storey home in the east and a terrace with a shared box gutter in Fitzroy need very different setups, and the crew arrives knowing which one it is.

What makes the eastern suburbs different?

Tree cover. The east is Melbourne's leafiest belt, with tall gums and big exotic gardens over tiled, often double storey homes. Gutters fill faster here than anywhere else, and shaded southern roof faces grow moss.

Booked most here: twice-yearly gutter cleans, moss treatment on tile roofs, and pre-summer clears for homes near the foothills. Steep driveways and terraced gardens make pole work from the ground especially useful.

What makes the south-eastern suburbs different?

Range. The south-east runs from established streets lined with plane trees and 1960s brick veneers, through growth estates with Colorbond roofs, to the bay corridor at Frankston where salt air settles on metal gutters.

Booked most here: yearly gutter cleans on brick veneer homes, gentle washes for Colorbond roofs near the bay, and cleans for landlords between tenancies. Newer estates mean tight side paths and neighbouring fences close to the gutter line.

What makes the western suburbs different?

Wind and dust more than leaves. Open land and strong westerlies push grit and litter into gutters, growth-corridor estates are packed with two storey homes on small lots, and older industrial areas carry long commercial box gutters.

Booked most here: gutter and downpipe cleans on two storey estate homes, and box gutter programs for warehouses and factories. Silt settles heavier here than leaves, so downpipes need extra attention.

What makes the northern suburbs different?

Age of the housing. Closer in, the north is full of Edwardian and interwar homes with terracotta or slate and hidden box gutters; further out, it turns into new estates. Plane trees and elms line many of the older streets.

Booked most here: autumn cleans after the plane trees drop, soft washing on terracotta, and box gutter clears on terraces and shopfronts. Slate roofs are cleaned from ladders or lifts, never walked.

What makes Bayside different?

Salt and slate. Sea air speeds up corrosion on gutters and metal roofs, coastal tea tree and banksia shed fine litter, and many period homes carry slate and terracotta roofs that can't be walked on.

Booked most here: gutter cleans with a close eye on corrosion, rinses for metal roofs exposed to salt, and moss treatment on shaded slate. Many homes also need care around pools and glass balustrades.

What makes inner Melbourne and the CBD different?

Access. Terraces share parapet box gutters, rear lanes are narrow, commercial strips and warehouse conversions sit side by side, and parking a vehicle can take longer than the clean. Planning is half the job here.

Booked most here: parapet box gutters on terraces, shared gutters on rows of workers' cottages, and small commercial roofs on shopping strips. Work is often timed early to beat traffic and parking restrictions.

How regions change the job

Why does the region matter for gutter cleaning?

Because the region decides what's in the gutter, what the roof is made of and how hard it is to reach. Those three things set the method, the time on site and how often the gutters need doing, so knowing the area makes quotes more accurate and visits better planned.

Tree cover is the biggest variable. A house in Vermont South under a canopy of gums can need two cleans a year, while a similar house in Tarneit with young street trees may be fine with one every year or so. The same logic works in reverse for dust: open western suburbs collect grit that leafy eastern streets rarely see.

Roof stock is the next. Inner-north terraces and Bayside period homes carry slate and old terracotta that crews can't walk on, while newer estates in the west and south-east are mostly metal. That changes the kit brought on the day and the time it takes.

Access follows the housing. Inner suburbs mean narrow lanes, parking restrictions and shared walls, while outer estates bring tight side paths between two storey homes. Crews plan which vehicle and which poles to bring before they leave the depot, so the day runs smoothly wherever the job is.

Timing matters too. Suburbs on the urban fringe, near the Dandenongs, Warrandyte or the outer west grasslands, sit close to bushfire-prone land, and the CFA's guidance on preparing for bushfire season puts gutter clearing among the early-spring jobs. Those areas fill our calendar first from August onwards.

Leaf drop, dust and fire season arrive at different times across the city, and each region page explains the calendar for that area.

How do I get a quote for any Melbourne property?

Send the address and what you'd like done. The region doesn't change how we quote: the roof is measured from aerial imagery, the method is chosen for the building, and one agreed figure lands in your inbox, whether the property is in Werribee, Warrandyte or West Melbourne.

Coverage questions

What do people ask about our service area?

Coverage questions usually come down to two things: whether living further out costs more, and whether the hills around the Dandenongs are included. Here are the answers.

Is there an extra charge for outer suburbs?
There's no added travel fee anywhere in metropolitan Melbourne. Prices are set by the building itself, its height, gutter length, debris and access, so two similar homes in different suburbs are quoted the same way. Very remote or rural properties outside the metro area are quoted case by case.
Do you go to the Dandenongs?
Yes, the foothills and the hills suburbs are covered as part of the eastern region. Many properties there sit on steep blocks under tall gums, so access is planned carefully, and some may need photos or a short look before we can fix a price. Pre-fire-season dates fill early, so book ahead.
Can you look after several properties in different regions?
Yes. Landlords, property managers and strata managers often have homes and buildings spread across the city. Every address gets its own quote and its own photo report, and where properties sit near each other we try to book them on the same day to keep things simple for you and your tenants.
